The technology was confirmed by the Non-Ferrous Metals Industry Science and Technology Novelty Search Center, a national first-level scientific and technological innovation consulting unit recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology, by Qiu Dingfan, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhang Wenhai, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Huang Xiaowei, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Senior engineer Jia Mingxing, Tsinghua University professor Xu Shengming, China Enfi Engineering Technology Co., Ltd., professor-level senior engineer Luye University and researcher Zheng Shili of the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Seven well-known domestic experts appraisal and review, and the final appraisal conclusion: Beijing University of Science and Technology, Sichuan Shunying Power Battery Material Co., Ltd. after 12 years of painstaking research and process practice, jointly invented the "new technology of nitric acid pressure leaching of limonite-type laterite nickel ore", which is the world's first, the world's leading, and has broad market promotion potential. It will greatly promote the development of China's power battery industry and stainless steel industry. Accordingly, Sichuan Shunying Company has declared more than 50 invention patents to the state.

The internationally leading "limonite-type laterite nickel ore pressure leaching technology with nitric acid" has been built in Meishan, an industrial test line with an annual processing capacity of 10,000 tons of dry-base ore, and has been applied in mass production. The test line has been running steadily for more than 4 months, and the product quality has reached the standard, with good technical reproducibility and high maturity. The leaching conditions of this technology are relatively mild, the leaching rate of nickel and cobalt is ≥95%, the recovery rate is >92%, the iron is produced from iron concentrate (iron grade >60%), and the recovery rate of nitric acid in the whole process is >97%. The NOx concentration of the exhaust after absorption is <50mg/m3, which is better than the international and domestic standards, significantly reduces the cost of nickel production, and has advanced technical and economic indicators.

Sichuan conforms to the real scene

Sichuan has successfully developed the "limonite-type laterite nickel ore pressure leaching technology with nitric acid" and realized the localization of all equipment, marking a substantial improvement in the level of nickel smelting technology and equipment in my country, especially the recycling and utilization of associated pig iron. It will have a significant impact on the pattern of nickel and iron industries. The technology will start the construction of the first set of production lines in October 2020.
