It achieves the cascade enrichment and separation of nickel, cobalt, manganese, iron, magnesium, aluminum, scandium and other metals in the global low-grade (containing about 1% nickel) brown iron laterite nickel ore. In addition to the preparation of nickel and cobalt hydroxide, it can also produce a large amount of iron concentrate (Fe>60%), highly active magnesium oxide, alumina, and scandium oxide and other high-value by-products. The problem that iron, magnesium, aluminum and other metals cannot be separated during the treatment of laterite nickel ore by sulfuric acid method is completely solved, and the metals in the waste residue produced by sulfuric acid method are productized. In addition, the acid and base recycling, water recycling, and cascade comprehensive utilization of the technology not only save costs, but also achieve the world's leading level of "three wastes" emissions and effectively achieve "green" production. In this process, the reaction temperature and pressure are also milder, the requirements for equipment are lower, and the localization of production equipment is realized.
"The new technology for pressure leaching of brown iron laterite nickel ore by nitric acid" was confirmed as "the world's first" by the national first-class scientific and technological research consulting unit recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the non-ferrous metal industry scientific and technological research Center. And on June 29th , 2020, the technical evaluation group including academician Qiu Dingfan, Academician Zhang Wenhai, Academician Huang Xiaowei and other 7 well-known experts in the Chinese metallurgical industry convened by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (former Ministry of Metallurgical Industry) ,assessed as: "The overall technical level of the new technology of nitrate pressure leaching of brown iron laterite nickel ore is in the international leading position. The technology promotion market has huge potential and considerable prospects, which will have a significant impact on the nickel cobalt and stainless steel industry." Using this international leading technology, our company has built an industrial test line processing 10,000 tons of dry base ore annually, with product quality standards, good technical reproducibility and high maturity. At present, a new technology green demonstration project is being built in Beihai, Guangxi, to process 1.8 million tons of brown iron laterite nickel ore annually.
Aiming at the complex alloy materials containing nickel, cobalt, molybdenum, vanadium and phosphorus in the petrochemical industry, nickel, cobalt, molybdenum, vanadium and phosphorus elements in the alloy are extracted by one-step acid leaching process, and then nickel, cobalt, molybdenum, vanadium and phosphorus elements are separated by "precipitation + resin + extraction" technology, and then purified respectively to obtain high-purity nickel sulfate, cobalt sulfate and other products. At the same time, nickel sulfate and cobalt sulfate can be further synthesized into nickel, cobalt and manganese ternary precursor products for batteries. The technology was evaluated as "domestic leading" by the Sichuan Provincial Science and Technology Department.
